Africa Growth and Energy Solutions UK PLC (AGES) is a company focused on developing and delivering renewable energy projects in Sub Saharan Africa.

AGES collaborates with local and international stakeholders, to develop projects with the aim of combining power with sustainable development programmes, that will enrich and transform the communities we serve.

We achieve success by partnering, acquiring or establishing a local company who will deliver renewable energy based programmes in counties with a viable power purchasing framework and rate. We:

• Facilitate public / private partnerships to meet long term electricity needs in line with government energy policy and world carbon reduction targets.
• Source robust financing mechanisms tailored to the specific requirements of each project and select reliable technology that is country and region appropriate.
• Implement sustained capacity building, growth and social development programmes.

AGES has a strong commitment to tackling unemployment and disadvantage. Renewable energy development generates new jobs in urban, suburban and rural areas, in all sectors of our economy, from manufacturing to construction to the professional services. According to a leading clean energy research firm, investment in renewable energy creates two to four times the number of jobs than from conventional electricity sources.

The issue of high unemployment is particularly prevalent across both developed and underdeveloped countries alike and has its links to a host of other economic, social and environmental issues including poverty, crime and education.

We passionately support job creation in the renewable energy industry through initiatives with our partners that promote the development of local communities in employability, enterprise and technical training.
