AGES is working with the local stakeholders, Government and key development partners, mainly in the South West region and Yaoundé, to develop a regional renewable energy rural electrification (RERE) programme using small hydropower. A hydropower station and off-grid distribution project serving 26,000 people in a stable farming community is in pre-feasibility phase.
Commercial Project with Solar Hydropower and Biomass Projects
AGES has partnered with district councils, telecoms operators, palm oil manufacturers and development organisations to introduce renewable energy on a best fit basis and to restore and renew existing hydropower plants.
This includes solar street lights, telecoms mast power, village and community solar systems and small hydropower plants.
